Frank Strobel, conductor

Frank Strobel is one of the most interesting figures in the field of film music worldwide - this rich and still comparatively unexplored territory, both past and present, is his main focus and area of expertise. His many-faceted skills include arranging film suites and large film music compositions, editing, producing and recording. Strobel's classical background and experience give him a unique insight into the many great scores written in the last century; he approaches everything he does with a knowledge and love of the composers' craft.

'The whole performance was a tour de force. The RLPO had to zip through the score with a briskness unlikely ever to be heard in the modern opera house, but they did so with tremendous élan.'

The Telegraph - Der Rosenkavalier (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Liverpool)

'The work's second premiere, stylishly and expertly conducted by Frank Strobel, often contemptuously dismissed as a footnote through simple ignorance, proved an unexpected Strauss sensation: for which perhaps the time is really ripe only now. Because, this 'Rosenkavalier' performance is a unique event in the history of both film and opera.'

Since 2000 Frank has held the post of Artistic Director of the European Film Philharmonic in Berlin, an international production company that project manages film music productions and performances worldwide.
