Kent Nagano has established a reputation as a gifted interpreter of both the operatic and symphonic repertoire. Equally at home in classical and contemporary repertoire, much of his inspiration stemmed from the time he spent with his mentor, Olivier Messiaen, whose piano he inherited. He has played a significant part in the new wave of thinking in Germany, where musical minds have been opening up significantly to inventive, controversial programming and musical thought. |
