for the first time.

Teatro Pérez Galdós, Las Palmas de
Gran Canaria
VWM's ongoing
project to bring the Mariinsky
Theatre to the newly refurbished Teatro
Pérez Galdós began last year with Wagner's Ring
under the baton of Valery Gergiev, whereas this year, the project
explores two Mariinsky ballet classics: Adam's Giselle
(with Marius Petipa's definitive choreography) and Leonid Lavrovsky's
renowned staging of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (commissioned
and premiered by the Kirov Ballet in 1940).
With performances of
Giselle on 7, 8 and 11 May and of Romeo
and Juliet on 9 and 10 May, soloists include Irma Nioradze,
Viktoria Tereshkina, Mikhail Lobukhin and Andrian Fadeev.
